This is what I did today...

Getting ready for Autumn and Thanksgiving indoors and out...

This was last week's project... the basement stairs. Kevin built them and I painted in under and around them before they were installed. It has never been painted. I will paint the new stairs next...

And here is an old copper tub that I found in the basement. I spent 1 1/2 hours polishing about 1/4 of it....

More Updates

More done on the windows... notice the pink corners and the long bubbly panels...

and sorta matching pieces purchased at different times...

Remember the lamp I got at one of the thrift stores when I was in Toronto last? Here it is cleaned and painted... and here is the shade I'm putting on it. I still have to finish attaching the faeries to it.

The chair from the 50 mile yard sale. It was $5. and it's from the original Dominion Chair Company (aka Bass River now). Even has the paper label on the bottom.

This is a runner that Kevin's aunt made years ago. She sold it to me at her yard sale for $1. Goes perfectly in my bathroom...

More linens in the bathroom from Value Village...

Another find at Value Village. Was yucky pink in colour... Not sure where this is going right now.

I think I'm going to do my Christmas tree in vintage ornaments this year. I have a bunch already from Kevin and Value Village but will need more.

A chinese checker board I got at Sally Ann... it's reversible. On the back there is checkers, chess and backgammon. It is cardboard on the back and metal on the front.

50 Mile Yard Sale Finds and Other Stuff

Old Melmac stuff... there are actually 5 cups - 2 more green ones...

A doll that is around my age... I have redone the ribbons and bonnet with new ribbon and rosettes since these pics were taken...

Glads from the Farmers' Market outside the hospital every Friday when Dad goes in for chemo...

This is actually from Value Village. Will probably paint it white when I do the kitchen...

I'm attempting to make my dining room windows look like stained glass. These are "in progress" shots... there will be pink in the corners and bubbly frosted glass in the outside panels...

Found these large seashells behind the shed under the dirt. Dug 15 of them up and clean them with bleach. They're perfect for my tropical paradise deck...

From Kijiji... two mini vases. I'm using them as candlesticks right now on my dining room table...

Got this at Home Sense for Halloween... it's a hanging lantern for a candle...

Mandy gave me this mosaic table for my birthday - from Pier One of course. It's a shallow bird bath but I put water in it and float candles in it...

This was a belt buckle I got at Value Village. Kevin grinded off the posts on the back and I added magnet strips so it's now a fridge magnet...

From a neighbour's yard sale... egg cups and spoons...

And finally, these are the shrubs I planted out front where the tiger lillies used to be. I transplanted all the tiger lillies to my rock garden... There are now 2 boxwoods in between these 3 shrubs and all the tiger lillies are gone. Looks better now.
